Regulatory Project Manager Biocides

Job description

You will be part of a team dealing with several chemical legislations (REACH, Biocidal Products Regulation, Plant Protection Products Regulation, etc.) and with expertise in several domains (chemistry, toxicology, environmental fate, ecotoxicology, etc.). In your role, you will:

  • Manage regulatory projects in the framework of the Biocidal Products Regulation (Regulation (EU) No 528/2012);
  • Coordinate and contribute to technical work performed by a team of experts;
  • Compile dossiers based on expert input, monitor consistency between dossier sections, and redact summary documents;
  • Address regulatory questions from clients;
  • Liaise with member states (pre- or post-submission of a dossier);
  • Remain aware of new regulatory and procedural requirements;
  • Maintain client relationships;
  • Prepare proposals/quotes;
  • Build a network within the industry, e.g. by attending meetings and regulatory conferences, and follow up on industry trends.

Your profile

Minimum qualifications for this position include:

  • A relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (bio-engineering, biology, chemistry, environmental sciences, …);
  • A minimum experience of 3 years within a regulatory environment;
  • Knowledge of the EU regulatory requirements for biocidal products;
  • Understanding of human health and/or environmental risk assessment approaches for biocidal products.

Required skills:

  • Strong project management skills including planning, organizing, and monitoring project execution within deadlines and budget constraints;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients and team members, e.g. to agree on deliverables and timelines;
  • Analytical skills to assess regulatory requirements, market trends, and business opportunities;
  • Adaptability and problem-solving abilities to address challenges in regulatory compliance and business development;
  • Enjoying contact with clients and being service-minded;
  • Fluent in English.

The following qualifications are additionally considered beneficial:

  • A PhD in a relevant field;
  • A good command of other European languages (Dutch, French, …);
  • Experience with one of the following legislations: Plant Protection Products Regulation, REACH/CLP.
